What it is not
It is not a free service: generation runs on your own Anthropic API account and is billed there. It is not a proofreader: AI can misread a passage, so you must review every question before adding it. It does not generate images, code questions, true/false or fill-in-the-blank questions (the exam system supports multiple choice only). It does not include the exam system itself.

- The Online Exam / MCQ Test System from phpguru.store. PHP 7.4+ (tested on PHP 8.5) with the curl, openssl, json and mbstring extensions (enabled on virtually all PHP hosting), MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10+ (tested on MySQL 8.0). Your server must allow outgoing HTTPS connections to api.anthropic.com.

- Copy ai_questions.php, ai_settings.php, includes/ai_generator.php and includes/nav.php into the folder where the Online Exam System is installed, keeping the includes/ sub-folder. The new includes/nav.php replaces the existing one and only adds the "AI Questions" menu entry; if you had edited nav.php yourself, keep your copy and add this line to it instead: ['ai_questions.php', 'AI Questions', 'bi-stars', 'ai'], → Import sql/ai_addon.sql into the exam system's database via phpMyAdmin or the command line. It only adds two tables (ai_settings, ai_generations); nothing else changes → Log in, open AI Questions -> AI Settings, paste your Anthropic API key and click "Test connection" → Open AI Questions, choose an exam, paste a text, click Generate, review the questions, add them.
