A ready-to-deploy PHP and MySQL careers site and applicant tracker. Post jobs, share the public careers page, and candidates apply with a résumé. You review applicants in one list, download their résumés and move them through shortlisted, interviewed and hired (or rejected). Uploads are treated as hostile until proven otherwise.

IMPORTANT: this is for a single employer or agency, not a multi-employer marketplace: there are no employer or candidate accounts, saved jobs or candidate profiles. It does not parse résumés, send emails or calendar invites, schedule interviews, or scan uploads for viruses (validation checks type and size, not malware). It needs a host that allows file uploads (upload_max_filesize of at least 2 MB). Uploaded files are kept in the uploads folder protected by .htaccess (Apache and LiteSpeed hosting); for extra safety set UPLOAD_DIR in config.php to a folder outside your public web root.

Uploads treated as hostile

A résumé must pass three checks: size (2 MB), an extension allow-list (pdf, doc, docx), and the file's real first bytes. A PHP file renamed cv.pdf, an .exe renamed .docx, double extensions such as cv.pdf.php, and empty files are all refused, and nothing is stored for a refused upload.

Files that cannot be reached or guessed

Stored files get a random 32-character name with no extension and nothing from the uploader, and the uploads folder denies direct web access. Résumés are only served through an admin-only download that sends them as an attachment with X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff, and it will only ever open files whose stored name is the 32-character form.

No duplicates, no orphans

Applying twice for the same job is refused, even with different letter case in the email, and even with eight simultaneous submissions. If a duplicate is caught after the file was saved, the file is deleted, and deleting an application deletes its file.

A pipeline that only moves forward

New candidates can be shortlisted or rejected, shortlisted ones interviewed or rejected, interviewed ones hired or rejected. Each button carries the status it was shown with, so two reviewers cannot overwrite each other.

Technical Requirements
