What it is not
This is a results and report card tool, not a full school ERP. It has no attendance, timetable, fee, teacher or parent logins, no remarks or co-scholastic grades, and no weighted or best-of-N rules. Grade bands are one fixed table (GRADE_BANDS in includes/grades.php) that you can edit to match your board; it does not implement any specific board's official grading scheme.

A ready-to-deploy PHP and MySQL report card system. Define subjects, exams and students, then enter each subject's marks for a class on one screen. The system works out totals, percentages, grades, pass or fail, and class ranks, and prints a report card for each student. A card stays "incomplete" until every subject has marks.

Key Features
Marks entry that cannot be half-saved
Marks for a class are saved in one transaction. If one value is above the maximum, negative or not a number, the page shows which student and nothing is saved. A blank cell means "not entered" and removes any earlier mark, so corrections are easy.
Rules a teacher would expect
Each subject has its own maximum and pass mark. Marks equal to the pass mark pass; one mark below fails the result and forces grade F even if the percentage is high. Lowering a subject's maximum below marks already recorded is refused.
Honest incomplete results
If a subject has no marks for a student, the card says which subjects are missing and shows no grade, result or rank, instead of quietly treating blanks as zero. Adding a new subject makes existing cards incomplete until marks are entered.
Fair ranking
Ranks use the total of complete students only. Students with the same total share a rank and the next rank is skipped (1, 1, 3), like most school rank lists.
