- Upgrading to PHP 8: finds everything that breaks or warns on PHP 8.0 to 8.5 (removed functions and syntax, silent behaviour changes, mysqli and PDO exceptions, deprecations by version) and produces a fix list with replacements, a test plan and a rollback step. Includes a read-only compatibility scanner (scripts/scan_php7.py) and the full removed/changed/deprecated tables.
- Reviewing MySQL schemas: reviews CREATE TABLE statements, dumps and queries for missing keys and indexes, wrong types (FLOAT money, numeric phone numbers, utf8 instead of utf8mb4, short password columns), MyISAM, duplicate indexes, unsafe query patterns and EXPLAIN output; gives ready-to-run ALTER TABLE statements with the data check to run first. What it is not
It is not software that runs on its own and not an AI subscription: you need your own access to an AI assistant that supports Agent Skills (claude.ai on any plan including Free, Claude Code, the Claude API, or another tool that follows the Agent Skills format). The skills guide the assistant through a written method; they do not replace a professional security audit, a database administrator or your host's support, and the assistant can still make mistakes, so read its findings before acting on them.
- Requirements & testing
- An AI assistant that supports Agent Skills. On claude.ai, "Code execution and file creation" must be switched on in Settings for the bundled scripts to run; every skill also works without its script. The scripts are plain Python 3 (standard library only) and one PHP file; none of them connects to the internet, and the scanners only read files. Each skill was run end to end on sample projects on 2026-10-23 with Claude Fable 5.1 in Claude Code; the upload ZIPs follow the skill format claude.ai documents.

- Four skill folders (SKILL.md, references, scripts), the same four as ready-to-upload ZIPs, GUIDE.md, LICENSE.txt and FILES.txt with the SHA-256 of every file.
- Installation (5 steps)
- Unzip the download. Keep the folder; you can re-download it any time from My Orders → claude.ai: Customize > Skills > + > Create skill > Upload a skill, then choose one ZIP from upload-zips/. Repeat for each of the four skills → Claude Code: copy each folder from skills/ into ~/.claude/skills/ (for every project) or into <project>/.claude/skills/ (one project) → Claude API: upload each ZIP from upload-zips/ with POST /v1/skills and reference it in container.skills with type "custom" (see GUIDE.md for the exact request) → Ask for the task in plain words, for example "review this PHP project for security" or "help me deploy this app on Hostinger"; the assistant picks the matching skill. What exactly is an Agent Skill?
A folder with a SKILL.md file (a short method the AI follows), reference notes it loads when needed, and small scripts it can run on your files. It is the open Agent Skills format published by Anthropic and used by Claude and other tools. The assistant reads the one-line description of each skill, and when your request matches, loads the rest.
Which tools and plans does it work with?
claude.ai on every plan including Free (with "Code execution and file creation" switched on so the scripts can run; the skills also work without the scripts), Claude Code, the Claude API, and other AI tools that support the Agent Skills format. Custom skills do not sync between these, so install the pack in each tool you use.
Do I need to know Python or how to run scripts?
No. The assistant runs the scripts itself when the skill tells it to. Every script only reads your files and prints a report; none connects to the internet. The one PHP file is a preflight page you upload to your hosting and open once.
How is this different from a list of prompts?
A prompt is one question. A skill is a method: a workflow, checklists and reference tables (for example every function removed between PHP 5.6 and 8.5 with its replacement, or each EXPLAIN column and what to do about it), plus a fixed report format with file and line references. The assistant follows it every time instead of improvising.
Were the skills tested?
Yes. Each skill was run end to end in Claude Code on sample projects with planted problems, and the scripts have an automated test suite that runs before every release. The date and details are in the README inside the download.
Can I edit the skills or use them for client work?
Yes to both. Edit them for your own use, and use them on your own and your clients' projects; the reports and code the assistant produces are yours. You may not share, publish or resell the files themselves.
Is this affiliated with Anthropic?
No. PHPGuru AI Skills is an independent product by phpguru.store; "Claude" is named only to say what the files work with. Anthropic advises installing skills only from sources you trust, so every file in the pack is plain text you can read before installing.
