Little Coders: First Patterns, Sorting and Sequences

Eight picture activities for ages 3–5 — no reading, no account, nothing saved. A grown-up reads one line; the child taps.

Free · no account · nothing saved

Before a child can read, they can already do the three things every program is made of: put steps in order, spot a pattern, and sort things into groups. These eight activities practise exactly that, one screen at a time, with big buttons and pictures only.

There is nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for. Open an activity on a phone or tablet, read the one-line prompt aloud (or tap the speaker), and let the child tap. When it says well done, you are finished — or go again.

What you'll be able to do

  • Put three picture cards in the order they happen
  • Say what comes next in a red-blue-red-blue pattern
  • Tap out a three-step path for the robot with arrow buttons
  • Sort fruit and toys into the right boxes
  • Choose what to do IF it is raining
  • Spot the one step that does not belong

Before you start

  • A phone, tablet or computer with a browser
  • A grown-up sitting alongside to read the one-line prompt aloud
  • Five minutes — one activity per screen

Curriculum

Every activitie is open — no purchase, no account. Tap one to start.

  1. 1 First, then, last Put three pictures in the order they happen — the first idea in every program. 3 min
  2. 2 What comes next? Red, blue, red, blue… — spotting a pattern is how a child first predicts what a program will do. 3 min
  3. 3 Robot, go! Tap two arrows, press Go, and watch the robot follow them — a first program. 3 min
  4. 4 Sort it out Fruit in one box, toys in the other — grouping things is how computers organise everything. 3 min
  5. 5 If it rains… IF it is raining, THEN take an umbrella — the child's first "if". 3 min
  6. 6 Find the odd step One of these steps does not belong — finding it is what programmers call debugging. 3 min
  7. 7 Again and again Three right-arrows, or one right-arrow "times 3" — the first loop. 3 min
  8. 8 Your turn — drive the robot anywhere No star this time. Make any path you like and press Go. 3 min

How it works

  1. 1 · Open it

No purchase and no account. Tap the first activitie on this page — it works on a phone or tablet.

  2. 2 · Do it together

One activitie per screen. The grown-up reads the prompt (or taps the speaker), the child taps. Stop whenever you like.

  3. 3 · Come back any time

Nothing to save. If you (the adult) want to tick activities done, log in with your email — the child never has an account.

Questions about this course

Is this a video course?

No. It is a set of picture activities the child taps through, with a one-line prompt for the grown-up to read out. Nothing autoplays, and there are no ads or links out.

What device do we need?

Any phone, tablet or computer with a browser. The buttons are big enough for small fingers, and nothing is installed.

Does my child need an account?

No — children never have an account here. This course needs no account at all.

What do you store?

Nothing about the child. The activities run in the browser and send nothing anywhere; this page and its lessons carry no analytics scripts. See the privacy policy.
